Renault Group and Geely Strengthen Strategic Partnership in Brazil
Under agreements signed between Renault Group, Geely Holding Group, and Geely Automobile Holdings (Geely), Geely has acquired a 26.4% stake in Renault do Brasil. This move strengthens the strategic collaboration between Renault Group and Geely, supporting the growth of both brands in the Brazilian market and paving the way for the introduction of new generation, cutting-edge zero- and low-emission vehicles.

The agreement grants Geely access to Renault Group‘s manufacturing facility located in São José dos Pinhais, Paraná state, and will see its branded vehicles distributed through Renault do Brasil’s sales network. This collaboration will contribute to Renault Group‘s international development strategy in Latin America and enable the expansion of the zero- and low-emission vehicle lineup distributed in Brazil.
Under the agreements, Geely will acquire a 26.4% stake in Renault do Brasil, while Renault Group will remain the majority shareholder and continue to consolidate the company in its financial statements. Geely, as a minority shareholder, gains access to Renault do Brasil’s industrial and commercial resources, accelerating its growth in the region’s largest automotive market. The EX5 electric SUV model from the Geely brand will be sold in Brazil through specialized brand dealerships affiliated with the Renault network.
Manufacturing Strength and Electric Vehicle Lineup Expand in Brazil

With Geely Auto branded vehicles set to be manufactured alongside Renault models at the Ayrton Senna factory in São José dos Pinhais, Paraná state, Renault do Brasil will increase its production capacity and further enhance the competitiveness of this advanced technology facility. Concurrently, Renault will leverage Geely‘s leading GEA new energy architecture to expand its range of zero- and low-emission vehicles for the Brazilian market.
Commercially, Renault do Brasil will distribute Geely Auto’s zero- and low-emission vehicle portfolio in Brazil, creating new growth opportunities in sales, financing, and services. Through this collaboration, Renault Group and Geely will strengthen their presence in Brazil and accelerate the development of their brands in this strategic market, which accounted for over 40% of vehicle registrations in Latin America in the first half of 2025.
