FIAT Grande Panda Wins “Auto Europa 2026” Award
FIAT continues to draw the attention of the industry and the public with the new Grande Panda. The new Fiat Grande Panda, recently named a finalist in the prestigious “Car of the Year 2026” (COTY) competition, has now been awarded the “Auto Europa 2026” prize by the Italian Automotive Journalists Union, which has honored innovation, design, and quality for 40 years.
Standing out for its Italian style, innovation, and accessibility tailored for daily use, the Grande Panda represents FIAT’s mission to offer freedom of choice for everyone. It is meeting the world’s roads to fulfill the diverse needs and expectations of B-segment customers across all markets.
The Grande Panda, the first model in FIAT‘s new global product range and one of the seven finalists for the European Car of the Year 2026 (COTY) award, has now been honored with the “Auto Europa 2026” award. With this prestigious recognition from the Italian Automotive Journalists Association (UIGA), the Grande Panda takes another strong step toward cementing its position as a key player on the international automotive stage, starting with Italy.
Innovative and Quality Cars Honored for 40 Years

The Grande Panda was selected for the award through a joint vote by a jury composed of 160 opinion leaders in the sector and the online public, following an evaluation process that encompasses the entire automotive ecosystem. This combined voting procedure reinforces both the technical reliability of experts and the opinions of car enthusiasts.
For 40 years, UIGA has honored vehicles that best represent innovation, design, and quality. This year, the Grande Panda was recognized for its contemporary, accessible, and human-centric approach. More than just a car, the Grande Panda is at the center of FIAT‘s new global product range, offering a truly pragmatic, inclusive, and accessible solution.
Inspired by the spirit of mobility and freedom of the original Panda from the 1980s, the model draws attention with its original design elements such as bold proportions, strong lines, pixel-style LED headlights, cube-shaped rear lights, and distinctive 3D ‘PANDA’ lettering on the doors. The Grande Panda’s interior continues to focus on smart and user-centric design, offering best-in-class shoulder room, flexible storage options, and intuitive technologies adapted to daily life.
This award from UIGA continues FIAT’s long-standing tradition of success and recognition from the public and industry professionals, marking the brand’s ninth victory in the Auto Europa Awards. It also reaffirms FIAT’s strong connection with Italian automotive culture.
FIAT’s Mark on the Auto Europa Awards

FIAT has a strong tradition of success in the Auto Europa Awards, with models that have defined their eras through innovation and design. Starting with the Tipo (1989) and Punto (1995) and continuing with the Panda (2004) and 500e (2022), each new generation has reflected the core values of the award: design, functionality, and accessibility. The Grande Panda’s success in 2025 constitutes a strong continuation of FIAT‘s innovative approach and its passion for producing cars aimed at improving daily life.
