Opel Takes Center Stage at the Brussels Motor Show with Innovative Product Range!
Opel celebrated the world premiere of the new Astra at the Brussels Motor Show, showcasing a visionary and innovative product lineup. Opel CEO Florian Huettl and Vice President of Marketing Rebecca Reinermann unveiled the new Opel Astra and Astra Sports Tourer models. With its sharper, more modern design, the new Astra raises the bar in its segment featuring the illuminated Opel Blitz logo, the Opel Compass design language, Intelli-Lux HD headlight technology, and an electric range of up to 454 km (WLTP).
German automotive giant Opel displayed its innovative product range at the Brussels Motor Show, one of Europe’s most prestigious automotive events. Developed in Rüsselsheim, the legendary compact class model Astra made its world debut at the year’s first major auto show, appearing with a sharper and more technical aesthetic than ever before.

Opel CEO Florian Huettl opened the press conference with a brief review of the brand’s recent successes, noting that the “Blitz” logo is set for an even more successful year. “2025 was a great year for Opel with many important developments. 2026 will be even more exciting,” Huettl stated. He also shared that the best-selling Opel Corsa once again topped the sales statistics in Germany in 2025, while the refreshed Grandland, Frontera, and Mokka models solidified Opel’s strong position in the SUV segment.
Class-Leading Intelli-Lux HD Lights and Illuminated Identity

During the presentation, Huettl remarked: “The new Astra represents the next step in our 90-year history in the compact class and brings innovative features to the segment.”
Rebecca Reinermann highlighted the technological advancements of the new model:
- Intelli-Lux HD Technology: “Developed by our engineers in Rüsselsheim, this system features more than 50,000 LED cells. It illuminates the road, signs, and pedestrians with extreme precision without dazzling other drivers.”
- Sustainable Design: “The Opel Blitz logo and Opel Compass signature are now continuously illuminated for the first time. Choosing light over chrome details is a major step in our sustainability journey.”
- Green Interiors: This eco-friendly approach extends to the interior, where all seats are made from 100% recycled materials.
- Ergonomic Comfort: The Intelli-Seats, designed to reduce pressure on the tailbone, are now standard from the entry-level trim.
Reinermann concluded by noting that the new Astra offers a “Power of Choice” lineup, ranging from efficient combustion engines and 48V hybrids to plug-in hybrids and a fully electric version with a range of up to 454 kilometers.
SUV Success and the High-Performance Corsa GSE Vision

Huettl expressed the strong customer interest in Opel’s electric transition: “Approximately 40% of Grandland sales are electric versions, and one out of every two Fronteras ordered is electric.”
In addition to the Astra family, the Opel stand features several key electrified models:
- Mokka GSE: Opel’s fastest electric production model and winner of the 2025 Golden Steering Wheel Award.
- Grandland Electric AWD: The brand’s first fully electric all-wheel-drive model.
- Frontera Electric Long Range: Designed for maximum utility and distance.
- Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo: This high-performance concept car, bridging the digital and physical worlds, emphasized Opel’s commitment to the small car segment.
The current Opel Corsa, also on display, recently secured its position as the best-selling B-segment hatchback in Germany for the fifth consecutive year and maintained its leadership in the UK for 2025.
