Citroën, a provider of accessible and comfort-oriented mobility solutions, has introduced the ELO concept car—a visionary “idea laboratory” that embodies innovation and creativity. Offering a fresh perspective on mobility through comfort, accessibility, and functionality, ELO provides an optimistic and creative response to modern challenges. Despite its compact 4.10-meter length, ELO surprises with a modular living space that can accommodate up to six people, thanks to the optimum use of its fully electric architecture.

Citroën, the pioneer of comfort, has turned a new page with the ELO concept. Building on the foundations of the OLI concept introduced in 2022, ELO serves as an “idea laboratory” that inspires Citroën’s future vision. True to the brand’s century-long tradition of promoting freedom of movement, ELO is a bold, smart, and creative response to rapidly changing modern lifestyles.

Designed from the ground up for electric power, ELO reinterprets the interior as a practical and functional living space. A true “tiny house on wheels,” the concept contrasts a compact exterior with a surprisingly spacious and modular interior, redefining on-board comfort.

REST, PLAY, WORK: A Companion for Daily Life

ELO is designed to be more than just a vehicle; it is a daily companion where you can relax, play, or work.

  • Rest: The cabin transforms into a peaceful retreat or even a bedroom.

  • Play: Designed for outdoor enthusiasts, it serves as a base for hobbies and family activities.

  • Work: It easily converts into a comfortable mobile office.

With its 4.10-meter compact minivan design, ELO is at home in urban environments but equally invites users to explore the outdoors. To achieve this, Citroën leveraged the expertise of its partners, Goodyear and Decathlon, to develop practical, technical, and sustainable materials.

The “Smart” Interior: Innovation in Every Detail

The ELO concept introduces a revolutionary cockpit and modular seating arrangement:

  • The 360-Degree Pilot Seat: The driver sits in a central position, offering a 180-degree field of vision. The seat can rotate 360 degrees to interact with passengers or become an office chair.

  • Interactive Display: Eschewing traditional screens, ELO uses a transparent panel to project information across the width of the windshield. This “Smart Band” evolution is more cost-effective than a traditional HUD while keeping the driver’s eyes on the road.

  • Modular Seating: While the standard setup features four seats, two additional hidden seats can be deployed to carry six people. The three rear seats are removable and can be used as outdoor chairs—a nod to the Citroën 2CV and Decathlon’s Quechua products.

Strategic Partnerships: Goodyear & Decathlon

Citroën collaborated with industry leaders to push the boundaries of functionality:

  • Decathlon: Contributed expertise in sports and outdoor materials. This includes the “Dropstitch” inflatable mattresses (inspired by paddleboards) stored in the trunk, and hooks on the doors for stretching awnings.

  • Goodyear: Developed smart tires specifically designed for versatile outdoor use.

A Sustainable Response to Modern Challenges

ELO prioritizes weight reduction and the use of responsible materials. The interior features washable felt made from recycled components of the 2022 OLI concept. The bumpers and fenders are made from expanded polypropylene (30% recycled), a lightweight material commonly used in Decathlon’s bicycle helmets.

Xavier Chardon, CEO of Citroën, stated: “ELO is an idea laboratory that perfectly reflects Citroën values. It is creative, bold, accessible, and responsible. It reflects the spirit of the times and offers innovative solutions to encourage freedom of movement and a better life.”

Pierre Leclercq, Citroën Design Director, added: “ELO is a bubble of energy. Our design teams had great fun imagining a model that is practical, playful, and smart down to the smallest detail.”

World Premiere

A true embodiment of freshness and energy, the Citroën ELO will have its world premiere at the Brussels Motor Show on January 9, 2026.
