The all-new electric Mercedes-Benz CLA has earned the highest possible five-star rating in the latest Euro NCAP tests. Achieving “Best in Class” performance, the CLA has been officially recognized as the safest vehicle tested by the institute in 2025 across all categories and brands. This success follows in the footsteps of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, which secured the same title in 2024.

The fully electric Mercedes-Benz CLA delivered top-tier results in all four safety disciplines evaluated by Euro NCAP: Adult Occupant Protection, Child Occupant Protection, Vulnerable Road User Protection, and Safety Assist systems.

Jörg Burzer, Member of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz Group AG and CTO responsible for Development and Procurement, stated: “We redesigned the CLA from the ground up, and that included evolving the safety features that are part of the Mercedes DNA. Having an independent organization like Euro NCAP confirm that the CLA is the safest vehicle tested in 2025 underscores our long-standing expertise and commitment.”

Leading All Categories

This achievement means the new CLA is not only the leader in the “Small Family Cars” category but also ranks first among all vehicle classes tested in 2025. Euro NCAP, a consortium of European transport ministries, automobile clubs, and insurance associations, is renowned for its rigorous crash tests and comprehensive safety assessments.

Prof. Dr. Paul Dick, Head of Safety and Crash Research at Mercedes-Benz AG, emphasized the brand’s holistic approach: “Our goal is to protect not only the occupants of Mercedes-Benz vehicles but everyone on the road. To achieve this, we developed state-of-the-art safety and assistance systems for the new CLA, which contributed to this excellent result confirmed by Euro NCAP.”

A Legacy of Safety Innovation

As Mercedes-Benz prepares to celebrate the 140th anniversary of the invention of the automobile in 2026, the brand continues to raise industry standards. While the CLA’s standard safety assistance systems are designed to prevent accidents before they happen, its crumple zones, high-strength passenger cell, and advanced restraint systems are specifically engineered to minimize the risk of serious injury in the event of a collision.

From pioneering passive and active safety systems to today’s advanced driver assistance technologies, Mercedes-Benz remains the benchmark for automotive safety.
