Alpine CEO Philippe Krief stated: “We are conducting tests in Sweden’s Lapland to finalize the development of our future A390 model, the second vehicle in the Alpine Dream Garage. Our engineers have poured all their expertise and passion into this technological and design masterpiece to achieve the impossible. This five-seater Sport Fastback model will deliver the performance, agility, and driving pleasure of our iconic A110 model. The result is truly exciting. Even the most daring drivers will experience the thrill of driving over frozen lakes while looking through the side windows!”
Alpine A390 Performance Tests Conducted in the Arctic Circle

The highly anticipated Alpine A390 is undergoing its final phase of testing before its official unveiling. The rigorous climate conditions simulate five years of accelerated usage, ensuring the vehicle’s durability and reliability.

In Sweden’s Lapland, where temperatures drop as low as -40 degrees Celsius, Alpine’s development teams are conducting performance validation tests on the A390. These tests on snowy roads and frozen lakes ensure the model meets the performance and agility standards expected from Alpine. Additionally, given that the A390 is an electric vehicle, the brand is pushing its expertise in sustainability and accessibility to new heights.

Lapland’s extreme conditions provide the ideal real-world setting to test the A390’s three-electric motor powertrain, its five driving modes—including the new “Track Mode”—and Alpine’s Active Torque Vectoring technology. These trials allow engineers to refine various system settings and interactions to guarantee an optimal driving experience in harsh conditions for future users.

A Unique Alpine A390: A True Five-Seater Sports Car

As Alpine’s first sport fastback model, the A390 is designed to combine the excitement of a sports car with the practicality of a fully equipped five-seater, making it a one-of-a-kind vehicle in today’s automotive landscape.

The Alpine A390 will be manufactured at the brand’s historic Dieppe facility, while its motors will be produced at Renault’s Cléon plant.

Alpine’s partnerships in the A390 project highlight its commitment to showcasing French expertise. Devialet will equip the model with a premium sound system, while Michelin will supply exclusive A39-branded tires for the production version of the A390.

As part of Alpine’s 70th-anniversary celebrations, the A390 will be officially unveiled on May 27, 2025, in Dieppe, France.
