BYD achieved global sales leadership in 2025 by delivering over 4.6 million new energy vehicles (NEVs). During the same period, BYD surpassed the 1-million-unit threshold in annual overseas sales for the first time in its history, taking its global expansion to a new level.
BYD, a world-leading technology and automotive company, has reported its production and sales data for 2025 to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. According to the report, BYD’s strong performance in both production and sales has certified its leadership in the global New Energy Vehicle (NEV) and Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) markets.
In 2025, BYD’s NEV production increased by 5.4% year-on-year, exceeding 4.5 million units, while its sales rose by 7.7% to reach 4.6 million units.
Significantly, BYD hit a historic milestone by exceeding 1 million annual overseas sales for the first time. This achievement clearly demonstrates BYD’s global production power, competitive edge, and growing influence in international markets.
The rise of BYD in the all-electric (BEV) segment was particularly noteworthy. In 2025, its BEV sales surged by approximately 28% year-on-year, reaching 2.25 million units. With this performance, BYD outperformed its closest global competitor by more than 600,000 units, securing the top spot in worldwide all-electric car sales.
Maintaining its strong momentum in the final month of 2025, BYD recorded 420,398 NEV sales, while production for the same period stood at 419,814 units. The December 2025 figures confirmed the brand’s consistent growth performance throughout the year.
