China’s leading automotive exporter, Chery, continued its global growth momentum in April 2025, exceeding 200,000 vehicle sales for the month—up 10.3% year-over-year. Over the first four months of the year, cumulative sales surpassed 820,000 units, highlighting the brand’s expanding international footprint. A standout performer was Chery’s New Energy Vehicle (NEV) lineup, which saw a staggering 85.5% year-over-year increase in April, reaching 61,223 units sold. NEVs now account for over 30% of Chery’s total sales, reinforcing its commitment to clean mobility and innovation.

Accelerating Toward a Smart, Electrified Future

At the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show, Chery showcased its new Super Hybrid (CSH) platform, introduced through the TIGGO 9 and ARRIZO 8 CSH models. These vehicles demonstrated outstanding performance in endurance tests, offering over 1,400 km of total range and consuming just 4.2 liters per 100 km in hybrid mode.

The brand also emphasized safety, subjecting its models to intense “Mission Impossible” tests, including spiral rollovers, double impacts, and multi-car stacking scenarios. These trials validated Chery’s commitment to advanced safety engineering and real-world durability.

Chery continues to embody its global motto of “Technology for All, Unlimited Life”, advancing from traditional vehicle exports to smart production exports under its “From One Place to Another, For One Market to Another” localization philosophy.

Expanding the Lineup: Introducing HIMLA Pickups

Marking a significant milestone, Chery unveiled its all-new HIMLA pickup series at the Shanghai Auto Show. Covering compact to full-size segments and available in petrol, diesel, and NEV variants, HIMLA aims to redefine the pickup experience with intelligent features and off-road capabilities. This series bridges the gap in Chery’s portfolio and advances its multi-energy synergy strategy, offering users globally diverse travel options.

NEV Sales and Global Strategy on the Rise

In the January–April 2025 period, Chery’s total NEV sales surged 140.7% year-over-year to 224,629 units, powered by strong demand across multiple markets. The brand’s global user base has now exceeded 16.5 million. With eight global R&D hubs, ten production plants, and key regional component centers, Chery has built an end-to-end local ecosystem to support its international operations.

The company also hosted a record 5,000 global guests from 97 countries at its Shanghai exhibition and welcomed over 3,000 visitors to its Wuhu headquarters to experience innovations like AiMOGA service robots, smart charging solutions, and V2L (vehicle-to-load) tech.

Building a Brand for Global Families

By scaling up hybrid solutions with the CSH platform, expanding its product range with HIMLA, and enhancing user experience through dedicated family care services, Chery is strategically leveraging technology to accelerate its long-term global vision. As the brand sharpens its competitive edge in smart, electrified mobility, it edges closer to becoming the preferred automotive brand for families worldwide.
