Hyundai has unveiled its second high-performance electric model, the IONIQ 6 N, at the iconic Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK. Built on the success of the award-winning IONIQ 5 N, this new model incorporates cutting-edge technologies derived from Hyundai N’s motorsports experience.
Capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds and reaching a top speed of 257 km/h, the IONIQ 6 N sets a new standard for electric performance.
Designed to deliver an exhilarating and immersive driving experience, the IONIQ 6 N follows Hyundai N’s core principles: cornering mastery, track readiness, and everyday usability. While it delivers thrilling performance on the track, it also provides comfort and refinement for daily driving.
It features a newly designed suspension geometry, an enhanced N e-Shift virtual gear shift system, and optimized audio enhancements that collectively ensure a deeply engaging drive on both emotional and technical levels.
The IONIQ 6 N delivers 650 PS (478 kW) and 770 Nm of torque. With N Launch Control, it reaches 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds and achieves a top speed of 257 km/h. A newly developed N Battery system ensures optimal temperature management in race scenarios, supported by improved thermal management and pre-conditioning capabilities.
Aerodynamically enhanced with motorsport-inspired elements such as a swan-neck rear spoiler and wider fenders, the IONIQ 6 N combines aggressive aesthetics with stability at high speeds. The new “Performance Blue Pearl” paint adds a refined, deep-toned finish to the brand’s signature color.
The chassis features reengineered suspension and a stroke-sensor-equipped Electronic Control Suspension (ECS), offering superior handling at speed while maintaining ride comfort.
Hyundai‘s advanced software takes vehicle-driver interaction to new heights. The N Active Sound+ system, utilizing stereo sources and an Acoustic Design Processor (ADP), enhances the auditory driving experience with three modes: Ignition, Evolution, and Lightspeed.
N e-Shift simulates gear ratios for enhanced driver engagement. Combined with N Launch Control, N Drift Optimizer, N Grin Boost, and N Torque Distribution, the vehicle delivers an unmatched blend of performance and control.
Inside, the N Ambient Shift Light offers visual cues for gear changes, increasing driver focus and engagement. The N Track Manager enables drivers to analyze and customize track performance, create virtual circuits, review speed data, and benchmark laps with ghost car visuals.
N Drift Optimizer allows fine-tuning of drift performance parameters such as slip angle and traction control to match the driver’s skill level.
Additionally, Hyundai N introduces performance parts inspired by motorsport experience, further enhancing the IONIQ 6 N‘s track-ready character.
The IONIQ 6 N was the centerpiece of Hyundai N’s presentation at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Positioned near the legendary Hill Climb course, the Hyundai N stand featured a dedicated grandstand and showcased the brand’s electric performance lineup: the new IONIQ 6 N, the IONIQ 5 N with performance parts, and the IONIQ 5 N TA Spec.
Live action displays included rally and track models such as the 2014 WRC Rally 1, 2024 WRC Rally 1 Hybrid, RN24, and the IONIQ 6 N Drift Spec.
The festival’s highlight, the “N Moment” synchronized performance on July 10, featured the entire Hyundai N lineup on track in a dynamic, visually stunning display, marking the IONIQ 6 N’s dramatic debut in style.
