Katrin Adt has officially joined Renault Group as the new CEO of Dacia, succeeding Denis Le Vot. With over 26 years of leadership experience at Mercedes-Benz, Adt is preparing to lead the brand into a new era with a strong focus on electrification “the Dacia way.”

Adt, who most recently served as Vice President at Mercedes, will also become a member of Renault Group’s Leadership Team. Under the new organizational structure, she will report directly to Fabrice Cambolive, Renault Group’s Chief Executive Officer for Growth.

Leadership Transition at Dacia

Commenting on the appointment, Renault Group CEO François Provost said:
“Under Denis’ leadership, Dacia has become a powerful brand that appeals to a wider customer base. On behalf of Renault Group, I want to express my gratitude for all the achievements Denis has delivered over the years. We are delighted to welcome Katrin Adt, whose automotive expertise will be a great asset for Dacia.”

Renault Group’s CEO for Growth, Fabrice Cambolive, added:
“We are very pleased to see Katrin Adt taking charge of Dacia. Her broad knowledge and expertise in business development will help us maintain the brand’s strong momentum. Most importantly, we will work together on our biggest upcoming challenge: electrifying the product lineup in the ‘Dacia way.’ Dacia has already secured a top-three position in Europe’s retail market; the next step is to establish the brand as a key reference in electric mobility.”

A New Era for a Fast-Growing Brand

Dacia, widely recognized as a leader in affordable mobility, is experiencing rapid growth—particularly with the launch of the C-segment SUV, the Dacia Bigster. As she steps into her new role, Katrin Adt brings nearly three decades of experience from Daimler and Mercedes-Benz, where she held multiple high-level executive roles.

Adt has served as CEO of Mercedes-Benz Luxembourg, Vice President of Human Resources Development at Daimler, CEO of the Smart brand, and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Own Retail Europe. More recently, she held the position of Head of Corporate Audit at Mercedes-Benz.

Her career has been strongly focused on sales and retail, where she successfully led several strategic transformations, including the full electrification of the Smart brand. Beyond her executive achievements, she is also an advocate for diversity and actively mentors women in technology.

Katrin Adt’s First Remarks as CEO of Dacia

Upon taking over her new position, Katrin Adt shared her excitement:

“Joining the Renault Group and taking over the leadership of the brand is a great source of excitement for me. Together with an extraordinary team, contributing to the new chapter of Dacia’s remarkable success story is a true privilege. Preparing a brand for the future has always been my greatest motivation. Today, our relationship with the car is at a turning point, both technologically and socially. Dacia has continuously proven the validity of its approach with products that fully meet customer expectations. More than just a brand, Dacia represents a bold, smart, and accessible vision of mobility. To carry this vision forward, we are fully mobilized—alongside Dacia and Group teams, as well as our suppliers, partners, and distributors. By bringing our energy, determination, and shared sense of purpose, we will continue to challenge conventions and deliver true value to our customers.”
