Hyundai’s first fully electric MPV, the STARIA Electric, made its world premiere at the Brussels Motor Show. Alongside it, Concept THREE offers a first glimpse into the future of the IONIQ 3—a compact electric model set to be produced in Turkey (İzmit). With the most comprehensive electric product range in Europe, Hyundai remains at the very heart of the global electric transition.

At the Brussels Motor Show, Hyundai is demonstrating its electric mobility vision through powerful product launches and a long-term European strategy. By introducing the all-electric version of its acclaimed MPV, the STARIA, Hyundai is setting a new segment standard by combining zero-emission driving with superior comfort, spaciousness, and versatility.

Additionally, the Concept THREE provides a strong preview of the design and engineering behind the IONIQ 3, a new compact EV developed specifically for the European market. These debuts underscore Hyundai’s future vision, centered on electrification, advanced technology, and human-centric mobility.

STARIA Electric: A New Era for MPVs

The STARIA Electric carries Hyundai’s MPV philosophy into an all-electric future. Designed for large families, commercial users, and those with active lifestyles, it merges functionality with a premium, zero-emission experience.

Design: Shaped by the “Inside-Out” philosophy, it features a low shoulder line and expansive glass surfaces for a lounge-like interior.

  • High-Tech Architecture: It utilizes a 75 kW battery (or up to 84 kWh depending on the configuration) and a 160 kW (218 PS) motor.

  • Ultra-Fast Charging: Thanks to its 800-volt system—a rarity in this segment—the STARIA Electric can charge from 10% to 80% in just 20 minutes.

  • Versatility: Available in 7-seater LUXURY and 9-seater WAGON configurations, offering up to 1,303 liters of cargo space in the 9-seater version.

The IONIQ 3 Preview: Concept THREE

A major highlight for the Turkish market is the Concept THREE, which previews the IONIQ 3.

  • Production in Turkey: This compact electric hatchback will be manufactured at Hyundai’s İzmit factory starting in August 2026.

  • Market Position: Positioned between the Inster and the Kona, the IONIQ 3 aims to make electric mobility accessible to a wider audience.

  • Performance: The production version is expected to offer a range of up to 500 km (WLTP) and will feature the signature Parametric Pixel lighting.

Strategic Focus on Europe and Turkey

Europe is the core of Hyundai’s electrification strategy. With factories in Turkey and Czechia supplying approximately 80% of European volume, the brand is deeply rooted in the region.

  • R&D Investment: Hyundai recently invested €150 million in the “Square Campus” at its European Technical Center in Rüsselsheim, Germany, expanding its R&D and testing capabilities.

  • Innovation: Beyond vehicles, Hyundai is developing Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) energy solutions and collaborating with Boston Dynamics for smart logistics and robotics.
