Karsan, one of the world’s most visionary brands in next-generation public transport, has signed a new agreement in Romania. Under the deal, valued at approximately €17 million, Karsan will deliver 30 units of the 10-meter e-ATA and will also strengthen the city’s electric transport infrastructure by installing 45 charging stations.
Karsan CEO Okan Baş stated that they aim to deliver the new vehicles in 2026: “Timişoara began its electric transformation journey with Karsan; now, it has chosen Karsan again for this journey. This is the strongest indicator of the city administration’s confidence in our products and the quality of service we provide. With 30 new 10meter e-ATA buses, we are taking the transformation in Timişoara one step further and continuing to contribute to Romania’s sustainable transport goals. The over 450 electric Karsan vehicles currently serving across Romania highlight the scale of this success.”

Renewing public transport with next-generation technologies worldwide, from the U.S. to Japan, Karsan has signed a new agreement valued at approximately €17 million in Timişoara, Romania. With this new contract, in addition to the 30 units of 10-meter e-ATA buses to be delivered in 2026, Karsan will contribute to Romania’s electric transport infrastructure by installing 30 slow and 15 fast pantograph charging stations.

The e-ATA, the largest member of Karsan’s native electric product family, offers a high-efficiency technology platform that meets all urban transport requirements. The e-ATA 10m to be supplied to the Timişoara municipality, with a 400 kWh battery capacity, easily tackles steep ramps thanks to its high-torque hub motor technology, while its full low-floor structure ensures an accessible passenger experience.
