Continuing its journey toward becoming a global leader in public transportation, Karsan has started 2025 with a new tender win. Having recently delivered its 250th electric vehicle to Italy, the company has now secured a new contract in the Campania region. Under the agreement signed with Regione Campania and its public transportation authority ACAMIR, Karsan aims to deliver 42 fully electric e-ATAK buses by the end of the year.
Expressing his satisfaction with another tender win in Italy, Karsan CEO Okan Baş stated:
“With this delivery, our electric vehicle fleet in Italy will approach 300 units. In this region, which includes major cities like Naples, we had previously delivered eight e-ATAK buses. With the new deliveries, our fleet in Campania will reach 50 vehicles. The region is still in the early stages of transitioning to electric public transportation, and we take great pride in the fact that they have chosen Karsan e-ATAK for this transformation. We are delighted to contribute to the evolution of public transport in 23 cities across 11 regions in Italy with our e-JEST, e-ATAK, and e-ATA models.”
Karsan has been playing a pioneering role in the transformation of urban mobility, particularly in Europe, with its advanced electric and autonomous vehicles. Under the new agreement, Karsan will deliver the 42 e-ATAK buses in two phases. Highlighting Italy as a key market, Okan Baş added:
“We are proud to win yet another tender as a 100% Turkish brand. By completing these deliveries by the end of 2025, our electric vehicle fleet in Italy will be close to 300 units. The phased delivery approach will significantly enhance our presence in the Campania region. In Naples and its surrounding areas, we had previously delivered eight e-ATAK buses, and with these new additions, our fleet in Campania will grow to 50 vehicles.”
Emphasizing the region’s recent shift towards electric public transport, Baş continued:

Designed with passenger comfort as a priority, the Karsan e-ATAK features a low-floor design, ensuring easy access for elderly passengers and families with children. The spacious seating arrangement and ergonomic seats provide a premium travel experience.
With a length of 8 meters, e-ATAK is optimized for urban routes, offering a passenger capacity of 52. Its 230 kW electric motor delivers 2,500 Nm of torque, enabling effortless navigation even on steep inclines, while its range of up to 300 km ensures seamless daily operations.
The fast-charging capability, allowing the battery to be fully recharged in 3 to 10 hours, maximizes the number of trips the bus can make in a single day, ensuring efficient and uninterrupted public transportation services.
