The Nissan Formula E Team has secured a historic milestone by clinching the 2024/25 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. British driver Oliver Rowland claimed the Drivers’ Championship title at the Berlin E-Prix, sealing his remarkable season with two races still remaining.

Rowland, who enjoyed an exceptional campaign with four wins and seven podiums, delivered a consistent and strategic performance to secure the title during Round 14 in Berlin. Heading into the weekend with a 69-point lead over his closest rival, Rowland needed to maintain at least a 58-point advantage to confirm his championship victory. Despite setbacks during Round 13, including a late-race collision and a five-place grid penalty, he managed to finish fourth in Round 14 — extending his lead to 59 points and officially becoming World Champion.

Meanwhile, Sérgio Sette Câmara made his debut for the team, stepping in for Norman Nato, who was unavailable due to his World Endurance Championship commitments. Despite a difficult start in wet conditions and a red flag in qualifying, Sette Câmara fought through the field to finish ninth in Sunday’s race — earning his first points for the team.

Season Finale to Take Place in London

The championship concludes with a thrilling season finale at ExCeL London on July 25–27, where the team will aim to secure the Teams’ and Manufacturers’ titles as well.

Tommaso Volpe, Managing Director and Team Principal, Nissan Formula E Team:

“This weekend has been one of the most emotional moments in my motorsport career. After a tough first race, the team bounced back brilliantly, helping Oliver secure the Drivers’ Championship. Sérgio also faced a steep challenge stepping into the team with very limited track time, but delivered an excellent debut.

Winning this title with Oliver, who began his Formula E journey with us as a rookie, is incredibly special. His growth and dedication are truly inspiring. I’m also proud of Sérgio’s strong performance. Now, we celebrate — but our focus quickly shifts to London, where we’ll fight for the remaining two titles.”

Oliver Rowland, 2024/25 Formula E World Champion:

“Winning the Drivers’ World Championship with the Nissan Formula E Team is an incredible feeling — it will take some time to fully sink in! After a tough day yesterday, I focused on damage limitation today. But in Formula E, that rarely works, so I just trusted my instincts and gave it everything.

Since returning to Nissan, the team has given me an environment where I could thrive. I’m grateful to every team member, and especially to Tommaso and Dorian for believing in me. There’s still more to achieve — two more championships are on the line, and I’m fully focused on London.”

Sérgio Sette Câmara, Driver, Nissan Formula E Team:

“After a positive FP1 in the dry, going straight into wet qualifying without FP2 was a challenge — I had zero experience in those conditions. It was a tough Saturday, but it gave me a good foundation for Sunday.

Although my final qualifying lap was cut short by a red flag and the Safety Car disrupted my first Attack Mode, I managed to show good pace and score points. I’m proud to represent Nissan and happy with my debut. Congratulations to Oliver on a fantastic championship win — I’m looking forward to supporting the team and pushing hard for success in London.”
