Strong Leadership Continues as Opel Reinforces Commitment to Sustainable Growth

German automaker Opel has announced the extension of CEO Florian Huettl’s contract for an additional three years. Huettl, who has been leading Opel and Vauxhall since June 2022, will continue to serve as Chief Executive Officer, following the unanimous decision of Opel Automobile GmbH’s Supervisory Board.

The renewal reflects Opel’s commitment to maintaining strong leadership as the brand pushes forward with its strategy for innovation, electrification, and sustainable growth. Known for combining German engineering excellence with superior driving pleasure, Opel continues to develop cutting-edge, high-comfort vehicles under Huettl’s guidance.

In addition to leading Opel and Vauxhall, Huettl has also been overseeing Stellantis’ operations in Germany since December 2024, strengthening the group’s position in the European automotive market.

Xavier Chéreau, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of on Opel Automobile GmbH and Stellantis Chief Human Resources & Transformati Officer, commented on the announcement:
