Toyota Reaches 6 Million Electrified Vehicle Sales in Europe with Multi-Path Mobility Strategy

Toyota continues to lead the industry with its multi-path mobility strategy, offering full hybrids, plug-in hybrids, battery-electric, and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. By the end of 2024, Toyota surpassed a significant milestone, achieving 6 million electrified vehicle sales in Europe. On a global scale, the company has sold over 30 million electrified vehicles between 1997 and 2024. In Turkey alone, Toyota has sold more than 127,000 full hybrid vehicles since 2009.
These figures highlight the success of Toyota’s diverse electrification approach, enabling significant emission reductions even in regions where zero-emission vehicle infrastructure remains underdeveloped.
A Multi-Path Strategy for a Sustainable Future
Toyota’s commitment to sustainability is evident in its broad vehicle lineup, which includes full hybrids, plug-in hybrids, battery-electric vehicles, and hydrogen fuel cell models. This strategy has played a key role in reducing average exhaust emissions in Europe by over 50% since 1995.
In 2024, Toyota achieved record-breaking sales in Europe, exceeding 1.2 million vehicles. Notably, 74% of these sales were electrified models, reinforcing the company’s leadership in eco-friendly mobility.
Carbon Neutrality Goals by 2040
Toyota is dedicated to achieving 100% CO2 reduction in all new vehicle sales in Europe by 2035. This ambitious target aligns with Toyota’s global Environmental Challenge 2050, which aims for full carbon neutrality worldwide by 2050 and across Europe by 2040.
By leveraging a multi-path approach, Toyota ensures a practical and scalable transition toward sustainable mobility, making low-emission and zero-emission transportation more accessible to a wider audience. As the company continues to innovate, its long-term commitment to environmental responsibility remains at the core of its operations.
