Xavier Peugeot has officially taken over as the new CEO of DS Automobiles, succeeding Olivier François, who had been leading the brand since July 2023. While stepping down from DS Automobiles, Olivier François will continue to oversee FIAT and assume leadership of the newly established Stellantis Marketing Office, maintaining his strategic responsibilities within the group.
As the newly appointed CEO of DS Automobiles, Xavier Peugeot will report directly to Jean-Philippe Imparato, Stellantis‘ Chief Operating Officer for Extended Europe Operations. This transition marks an important leadership shift within Stellantis as the company continues to refine its premium automotive strategy.
With a distinguished career spanning decades, Xavier Peugeot brings a wealth of experience to his new role. Joining PSA PEUGEOT Citroën Group in 1994, the 60-year-old executive holds a master’s degree in business administration from Paris La Sorbonne University and a second master’s degree from Paris Dauphine University. As DS Automobiles enters a significant phase in its journey, Xavier Peugeot takes on the role at a pivotal moment. Following the brand’s 10th anniversary celebration, 2025 marks the 70th anniversary of the legendary DS model, a milestone that coincides with the global debut of DS Automobiles’ new all-electric flagship, DS N°8.
Upon his appointment, Xavier Peugeot expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “DS Automobiles is a young brand built on strong foundations, with a remarkable legacy tied to the legendary DS model celebrating its 70th anniversary. In addition to leading DS Automobiles, Xavier Peugeot will also assume the role of Head of Stellantis’ Heritage Division, overseeing the preservation and promotion of the company’s rich automotive legacy. His new responsibilities officially take effect on February 3, 2025.
