Game-Inspired Concept: Hyundai INSTEROID

Continuing to push the limits of automotive design, Hyundai Motor Company has unveiled its latest concept car, INSTEROID, in Seoul, South Korea. This visionary model represents Hyundai’s bold design approach while drawing inspiration from the gaming world to captivate the next generation of drivers.
Based on the all-electric Hyundai INSTER, which will soon be available in Turkey, the INSTEROID takes sporty aesthetics and user experience to an entirely new level. Developed by Hyundai’s European design team, the concept skillfully blends the playful essence of INSTER with the dynamic energy of “STEROID”, resulting in a striking, muscular appearance.
Closely resembling the INSTER Cross variant, INSTEROID is designed to challenge conventions, evoke emotions, and redefine what a sporty EV can be. Beyond its bold design, this concept enhances the driving experience with immersive lighting and sound elements. Inspired by video games, INSTEROID features an extended body, track-optimized wheels, and an aerodynamically efficient rear wing spoiler. The aggressive rear diffuser and airflow vents further emphasize its high-performance character.
Inside, the cockpit embraces a minimalist race car-inspired ambiance. The racing-style seats, reinforced safety bars, and specialized digital instrument cluster create a high-performance driving environment. Additionally, an exclusive virtual sound system enhances the vehicle’s dynamic feel.
Taking inspiration from INSTER’s charismatic design, the INSTEROID introduces a Drift Mode to elevate the driving experience, along with customizable features such as the Integrated Beat House sound system and Message Grid. The Boost emblem, integrated throughout the design, symbolizes the deep emotional connection between driver and vehicle.
INSTEROID also underscores Hyundai’s commitment to sustainability. The concept integrates recycled materials, showcasing innovative eco-conscious solutions. The interior features 3D-knit fabric made from repurposed threads, reinforcing both sustainability and sportiness.
Initially showcased in South Korea and Europe, the Hyundai INSTER is set to launch this year in select markets across the Asia-Pacific, Middle East, and South America.
