French automotive giant Peugeot, under the leadership of its new CEO Alain Favey, has revealed its latest roadmap and future objectives. Speaking at the 3rd Peugeot E-Lion Day 2025, Alain Favey stated, “The brand boasts a strong and comprehensive product range. Alongside the remarkable vehicles we already offer, we will focus on our customers and strengthen our partnerships to build a bright, successful, and sustainable future for Peugeot. The year 2025 will undoubtedly be our performance mode.” Peugeot reaffirmed its commitment to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by accelerating this transition through five key pillars: Electrification, Efficiency, Experience, Environment, and Education. With a strong focus on performance and the French market, Peugeot continues to expand its already extensive lineup of electric vehicles in Europe. In addition to the E-3008 and E-5008 Dual Motor 325 HP models, the brand is introducing the E-5008 with a 5-seat configuration.

Leading the European EV Market

As one of the mainstream brands with the most comprehensive electric vehicle lineup, Peugeot once again asserts its leadership in the European EV market. The brand provides solutions for all customer needs, from hybrid to fully electric vehicles, compact cars to SUVs, and light commercial vehicles, leveraging its multi-energy platforms. Recently appointed CEO Alain Favey used the 3rd E-Lion Day 2025 to share the company’s new roadmap and objectives with the public.

Reaffirming its commitment to net-zero carbon emissions at E-Lion Day 2025, Peugeot is accelerating this transition through five fundamental pillars:

  • Electrification: Peugeot holds the most comprehensive EV lineup among mainstream European brands and continues to expand it. In 2024, the company sold approximately 1.1 million vehicles worldwide, doubling its EV orders. This led Peugeot to achieve the highest EV sales growth in Europe. In 2024, the brand maintained its leadership in the European electric B-segment and light commercial vehicle markets. Additionally, the new 3008 was a resounding success, surpassing 100,000 orders—22% of which were fully electric E-3008s.Following a successful 2024, Peugeot is accelerating its efforts in 2025. Its all-electric lineup, consisting of 12 models, will expand to support customers transitioning to EVs. In the coming weeks, Peugeot will introduce high-performance, all-electric versions of the E-3008 and E-5008 featuring a dual-motor 325 HP, all-wheel-drive system in select global markets. These models will include a standard 213 HP front electric motor and an additional 112 HP rear electric motor, delivering a total of 325 HP for enhanced driving performance. Peugeot is also broadening its SUV lineup. The E-5008, with its 5-seat configuration, will debut in the first half of 2025, offering 994 liters of cargo space—78 liters more than the 7-seat version. When the second-row seats are folded, the cargo capacity expands to 2,310 liters, providing ample space for two large, one medium, and twelve small suitcases.

Peugeot’s expanded SUV lineup will cater to various customer needs:

  • The 3008 offers a dynamic fastback SUV for those seeking style and technology.
  • The 5008 (5-seat version) targets young families needing spacious SUVs.
  • The 5008 (7-seat version) provides greater flexibility for families and group travel.

Setting New Standards in Efficiency

Peugeot’s new generation of EVs is setting industry benchmarks for efficiency. In 2024, ADAC Ecotest recognized the Peugeot E-208 and E-308 as the most efficient vehicles on the market. The long-range versions of the E-3008 and E-5008, offering 700 km and 668 km ranges respectively, outperform competitors by enabling long-distance travel with fewer charging stops. For instance, a Paris-to-Nice trip, which typically requires three charging stops in other vehicles, can be completed with just two in these models.

Innovations in the E-3008 and E-5008 include a battery preheating system connected to the cabin heater. This feature optimizes charging times during cold-weather journeys. In the coming months, the system will integrate with the Trip Planner, ensuring the battery is preheated and ready for charging stops.

Peugeot ensures no customer is left behind in the electrification transition by offering multiple drivetrain options—hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and all-electric—all based on the same platform. The Peugeot Hybrid 48V system, available in almost the entire lineup from the 208 to the 5008, combines a 136 HP next-generation petrol engine with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission integrating an electric motor. This technology enhances torque at low speeds, reduces fuel consumption by up to 15%, and enables up to 50% of city driving in full-electric mode. Plug-in hybrid options are also available in the 308, 408, 508, 3008, and 5008 models. For instance, the 3008 achieves an electric range of 87 km with an approved consumption of just 0.9 liters per 100 km.

Customer Satisfaction Guaranteed

Peugeot prioritizes customer experience in the EV transition, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable electric journey. Every all-electric Peugeot model delivers agility, dynamism, and performance, while also addressing key customer concerns like range, charging, accessibility, and reliability:

  • Up to 700 km range to eliminate range anxiety.
  • 8-year/160,000 km battery warranty for peace of mind.
  • Competitive financing solutions across all markets.

Commitment to Sustainability and Education

At the 3rd E-Lion Day, renowned climate change researcher François Gemenne shared his vision on electric mobility. The event also featured insightful questions from Generation Alpha (those born after 2010) about EVs. While vehicle electrification is crucial, Peugeot’s net-zero roadmap also includes sustainable manufacturing and materials. Peugeot plants are reducing energy and natural resource consumption while transitioning to renewable energy. Currently, 60% of electricity used in Stellantis plants is carbon-free, with a target of 100% by 2030. The new Peugeot E-3008 embodies this commitment, with 85% of its materials being recyclable. Additionally, 40% of the dashboard and carpeting come from recycled materials, and 24% of the total vehicle weight consists of recycled components.

Peugeot also actively supports environmental education projects. As the official education partner of Born Free, the company contributes through funding, vehicle support, and donation campaigns. In 2024, Peugeot launched the “Powered by Lions” campaign, transforming EV charging stations into lion sculptures representing rescued lions, each featuring a QR code for donations. Looking ahead to 2025, Peugeot will provide Landtrek pickup trucks to support Born Free’s conservation efforts in Kenya. Additionally, the brand has partnered with Under The Pole to enhance ocean research and protection through education, logistics, and outreach initiatives.

Peugeot‘s ambitious roadmap for 2025 underscores its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and customer-centric mobility solutions.
