The New Qashqai Debuts with Upgraded e-POWER Technology for Greater Efficiency and Electric Drive Feel
Nissan has unveiled the most advanced version of its unique e-POWER system, now integrated into the updated Qashqai crossover. Set to launch in Europe in September 2025, the new Qashqai equipped with the enhanced e-POWER technology offers an extended range of over 1,200 km, reduced emissions of just 102g/km CO₂, and impressive fuel efficiency at 4.5L/100km (WLTP), making it a standout in the compact SUV segment.

Originally launched four years ago, Nissan’s e-POWER delivers the refined, responsive drive of an electric vehicle without the need for external charging. The new generation brings even better fuel economy, lower noise levels (up to 5.6 dB quieter than before), and a more refined driving experience with a fully electric feel.

At the heart of the system is a newly developed, compact 5-in-1 powertrain unit, integrating the engine, generator, inverter, reducer, and booster. Though the three-cylinder 1.5L turbo petrol engine remains, it has been fully redesigned for better efficiency, performance, and quieter operation. With Nissan’s proprietary STARC combustion technology and a larger turbo, the engine operates more smoothly and with lower RPMs at highway speeds.

In addition to technical upgrades, the Qashqai also receives advanced driving aids such as a 3D Around View Monitor and enhanced multi-lane ProPILOT Assist for safer and smarter driving. Furthermore, service intervals have been extended from 15,000 km to 20,000 km, lowering the total cost of ownership.

Produced at Nissan’s state-of-the-art Sunderland facility in the UK, the next-generation Qashqai with new e-POWER will hit European markets in September 2025, with launches in Africa and Oceania to follow.
