Karsan Continues to Strengthen Its Presence in Italy
Karsan, a leader in transforming public transportation globally, has won a new tender in Bari, Italy. The delivery of 42 electric buses, secured in cooperation with its Italian dealer KMobility, is scheduled for June 2026. With Karsan vehicles already actively serving in more than 40 Italian cities, the company maintains a strong presence in the country.
Commenting on the expansion, Karsan CEO Okan Baş stated, “We took the first steps of the electric public transportation transformation together in the city of Bari, Italy. We are delighted to sign new contracts as an indicator of the high satisfaction created by our Karsan vehicles already operating in the city. As of today, over 340 of our electric vehicles are providing public transport services in Italy. At Karsan, we are determined to continue our steady growth by strengthening our presence in Italy.”
Karsan, which plays a pioneering role in the global shift of public transportation towards electric and autonomous vehicles, continues to rapidly expand its presence in Europe. Marking another success in Bari, Italy, one of its main target markets, Karsan will deliver 42 units of the 18-meter e-ATA articulated bus through its Italian dealer KMobility in June 2026. This tender reinforces Karsan’s presence in Italy’s growing zero-emission bus market and marks a significant step in Bari’s strategy for sustainable and high-capacity public transport.
Vehicles Set to Start Service in Summer 2026!
Karsan is solidifying its role as a pioneer in Italy’s electric public transportation transition with new agreements. As part of the new Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project to be implemented by the Bari municipality, Karsan‘s winning tender means the company will deliver the first buses to serve the project in 2026.
Karsan CEO Okan Baş underlined Karsan’s success in Italy’s growing zero-emission public transport market: “Our vehicles continue to serve in more than 40 Italian cities. The satisfaction expressed by the Bari Municipality, which our vehicles have been serving since 2023, paves the way for future projects for us. With this newly won tender, 42 units of the 18-meter Karsan e-ATA will be delivered to the Bari Municipality next June. It is also significant that these vehicles will be the first ones used as part of the municipality’s new BRT project in the summer of 2026.”

Okan Baş added that Karsan‘s vision of “A Step Ahead in the Future of Mobility” remains committed to growth in its target markets, thanks to its robust products and innovative solutions. “Italy is one of our priority markets, strategically important in Karsan‘s European growth journey, where we are already very strong and aim to grow further. The trust placed in our brand and our best-in-class models in this market strengthens our determination as a European brand and our motivation to go further on a global scale every day. We further strengthened our operations and customer relations with Karsan Europe, which we established in Italy in 2018. We evaluate every feedback we receive to advance the quality of our products and services. This approach brings us not only operational success but also high customer satisfaction and long-term collaborations. In this journey, the strong and lasting cooperation we have established with our local dealer, KMobility, is a crucial part of our success. Our extensive field structure in Italy and the harmonious work carried out with KMobility have positioned Karsan as a trusted solution partner for the public transportation transformation in the country,” he said.
