Stellantis Fully Supports Renewable Energy with HVO Diesel!

One of the world’s largest mobility companies, Stellantis, continues its investments in innovative and clean energy solutions across all segments of the automotive industry. All Stellantis passenger and light commercial vehicles now support the use of Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) Diesel, popularly known as “Eco-Friendly Diesel.” HVO Diesel offers the same performance as traditional diesel but is derived from renewable sources such as vegetable and animal oils.
This cutting-edge, environmentally friendly fuel technology is compatible with all Stellantis passenger and light commercial models, including those with Euro 5 and Euro 6 engines. By embracing HVO Diesel, Stellantis ensures that its diverse product lineup is aligned with the future of clean energy, making tomorrow’s sustainable solutions accessible today.
Stellantis, renowned for its innovative solutions in both passenger and commercial vehicles, has announced that its entire range of cars and light commercial vehicles is fully compatible with HVO Diesel. This renewable alternative to conventional diesel brings an eco-friendly approach without compromising on performance. Supporting a wide array of Euro 5 and Euro 6 engine models, HVO Diesel is produced entirely from vegetable oils, animal fats, and waste oils.
What is HVO Diesel?
HVO Diesel is a biofuel derived from renewable raw materials such as plant-based, animal-based, and waste oils. The hydrogenation process used in its production creates a fuel that is sulfur-free, contains significantly reduced aromatic compounds, and offers lower pollutant emissions. As a result, HVO Diesel stands out as a cleaner and more environmentally friendly alternative to conventional diesel.
This groundbreaking innovation makes HVO Diesel compatible with most modern Stellantis Group vehicles equipped with Euro 5 and Euro 6 engines that feature the “XTL” label at the fuel filler neck. Additionally, even some Euro 6 diesel vehicles without the XTL designation—equipped with engines like the 1.3 MultiJet, 1.6 MultiJet, 2.0 MultiJet, 2.2 MultiJet, 3.0 V6 MultiJet, and the new 2.2 MultiJet and 2.3 MultiJet (F1A – Fiat Ducato)—are fully compatible with HVO Diesel.
Driving the Future of Sustainable Mobility
By promoting the widespread adoption of eco-friendly HVO Diesel, Stellantis not only leads the way in sustainable mobility but also reinforces its commitment to environmental conservation. With this initiative, the company continues to offer innovative, sustainable options tailored to meet the evolving needs of its customers while safeguarding the planet for future generations.
